Your Ego is Not an Enemy

What's with all of these memes that tell people to shut off their egos?

That sounds like a difficult concept to meditate on, nevermind put into material practice.

When we feel triggered, whether or not a person meant to trigger us, our instinct is either to shut off our feelings, or lash out in anger.

Both, as we all know, are unhealthy reactions that we've struggled with to some extent.

If we didn't each have an ego, we would all be the same.

Robotic, worker drone types, repeating the same social and political talking points we're inundated with all over media, and the same tired pop culture and outdated cliches.

So how do we stop reacting, yet express ourselves fully, and keep our individuality while feeling a part of the collective consciousness of all of life?

One of the ways is to have awareness of language. Of how the words we use have true meaning; programming our habits and to some real extent, the habits of those we speak with.

Awareness of how we collectively create reality, and how in the physical world, how words are expressed and commonly perceived, alter reality in ways that can at first seem subtle, and yet which over time, can insidiously change both mindstate and heartstate in more tangible ways. Your ego isn't an enemy. Don't pay much mind or heart energy to new cage "gurus", who tell you to stuff down your ego and ignore it, as if having balanced and grounded wants and needs is keeping you from enlightenment.

One of the things Libra season will be bringing in for us soon, is an easier energy of balancing the consciousness with the material world.
